Seal and leakage concept
Leakage is a common phenomenon in pipelines and seals. In daily life, such as the leakage of tap water and gas pipelines often bring inconvenience and even harm to people; In the industry, such as pressure vessels, reactors, valves, hydraulic equipment once leakage, light will cause waste of energy and raw materials, so that mechanical equipment can not work normally, heavy will lead to equipment scrap, pipeline or pipeline device paralysis, casualties and serious environmental pollution. Therefore, in the production practice, people do everything possible to prevent and eliminate the leakage of pipelines and pipeline devices.
Leakage refers to the phenomenon of an unwanted medium (such as a liquid, gas, solid, or mixture of them) flowing from the inside of a limited space to the outside or from the outside into the inside of a limited space. The medium mass of leakage per unit time is called leakage rate.
